Age of Love
Part of NBC's new summer lineup includes a reality TV show called "Age of Love" where 40-something and 20-something women are pitted against each other to win the affections of 30-year-old Mark Philippoussis, an Australian tennis whiz and former GQ model.
I must admit first off that I'm not a reality TV fan; I find reality shows to be trite and in keeping with most social stereotypes. And unfortunately the previews I've seen of Age of Love haven't changed my mind, although I was blown away by the appearance of some of the ladies in the show, thinking that some of the "cougars" looked more like the "kittens" than the kittens themselves.
Still, the tagline, "Does age matter?" intrigues me, as does the premise of some sort of scientific empowerment for single women over the age of 40. Perhaps I'll find Age of Love a guilty pleasure like ELLE magazine did.
