The Best US Cities for Singles
Every year Forbes.com reviews the largest (40) urban centers in the US and - using criteria such as nightlife, the costs associated with single living, dating opportunities or events and the number of singles in the area - determine a list of the best US cities for singles. This year's top city, San Francisco, topped the charts because its cultural opportunities outstripped all of the other contenders, although the number of singles, online dating opportunities and 'cool' were all highly ranked as well.
Formerly top-ranked Denver (from 2004-2006) dropped out of the rankings because of a change in the way Forbes determines an urban area, although Denver still earns the #1 spot for low-cost living. Nightlife heavy New York came in second this year, while Los Angeles (#1 for entertainment), Atlanta and Chicago rounded out the top five cities for singles in the US.

NYC is #2 city! Bull-hocky! Women trying to date in NYC know it sucks! We’re #2 for what, men? That I can see, but there are SO many women here in comparison to the # of men that dating here…let me correct…having a chance at a relationship here is near to impossible. Most of the men here are chasing their career and don’t want a relationship and the men that DO want one, are already in one (or they’re gay). If you’re a female who just wants sex with no attachments…this is the city for you! If you’re a guy wanting a wide varity of beautiful women to choose from this is also the city for you. If you’re a single lady who wants a relationship…don’t move to NYC. Trust me. I’ve been here 5 years. The pickins are slim ladies! Forbes.com can kiss it!
I agree with Alexis, NYC is not a good place to try and find a relationship. Even though there are many people there it’s almost impossible to find anyone. Women are way to choosey and men are idiots there. I lived in NYC for 20 years and had very little luck or fortune finding someone.
I agree. NYC is impossible for single women unless you just want to have sex and being very casual. It’s great for men though. I actually think there are much more single women then single men. So, if you are single women, don’t move to NYC. I am here nearly 8 years. All my relationship was with foreign men living in another countries such as UK or Norway….Men in NYC sucks. so, I am moving to San Jose this summer.
