The Four Man Plan

Monday November 19, 2007

I have a lot of dating books on my bookshelf in mid-read, so its unusual that I find one I'll read through from start to finish all at once. A recent addition to my library, The Four Man Plan by Cindy Lu, not only got me laughing out loud, but I also made it through all 211 pages in one sitting.

The back jacket of The Four Man Plan asks, "Do you secretly suspect that you SUCK AT LOVE?" Which in and of itself made me sit up. This book wouldn't be for the faint of heart, and I figured that out pretty quickly. What I wasn't expecting was an inventive mix of math and love, memoir and how-to, and somewhat raunchy humor all in an attempt to get single women everywhere out of their dating ruts and - hopefully - into the arms of a 3 1/2 man (because no one man can be your everything, says Lu).

Have you read The Four Man Plan? Feel free to tell me if you agree or disagree with my take on it in the comments.

YES, I’ve not only read The Four Man Plan, but I’ve been diligently following it for 2 1/2 months now, and it is BRILLIANT! The book was hilarious, but the underlying principles are so sound and sensible. I am actually enjoying dating for the first time EVER, and the self-growth has been enormous. The Four Man Plan Forum (at thefourmanplan.com) has been a big part of the process for me too. All you single gals out there, I highly recommend you check this one out!

Yes I read the book and did the plan for six months. I learned how to receive, had a ton of fun, and got an amazing 3 1/2 Man out of it :0D! For those wanting to revamp your dating life, it’s a useful guide – and for those simply wanting a funny read, it’s hilarious.
