Dating Advice: He Says He's Not My Type?
A recent dating advice request had a reader confused: why would someone tell you they aren't your type?
He sent me an e-mail at the end of the day, thanking me for meeting him. He said that he had a wonderful time but that he wasn't sure if he was my "type". However, he would love to go out again this week, just to see if he's wrong, and he is my "type." What does this mean?
I've answered this person's question (see Dating Advice: He's Not My Type? for the details) and was thrilled to hear back almost immediately:
Wow; I followed your advice and got exactly the response you predicted. Thanks!
Which was great to hear, but as I read the response I thought to myself: how many other singles aren't able to clearly say what we mean? Do most dating bloopers stem from miscommunication - both verbally and physical (i.e. body language)? Or is it something else?

When someone says that they are not your type it usually mean there is something about you that they don’t like. When i say it there is something wrong with your personality or figure that i have issues with. The most important thing is the personality and a lot of people lack that now a days.
If my date ask me about my response of “your not my type” i would definitely tell them the truth. Unfortunately i might be a little straight forward, but hey at least i am truthful about it. Also they can probably learn from it also if they have an open mind.
Its new and looks promising to me!
