Forbes' Yearly Rankings of the Best U.S. Cities for Singles

Sunday September 7, 2008

I blogged briefly about Forbes' report last year (see: Best US Cities for Singles), where the well-known magazine used several criteria to determine what the 'best' places for singles to live, were. Timely, considering a couple of weeks ago I blogged about an Australian town, whose

mayor was so desperate for single gals in the area that he publicly asked for "ugly ducklings" to come and make roots in the area (see: Mayor in Small Town Australia Asks 'Ugly Ducklings' to Move to Gender-Imbalanced Area).

So which metropolitan area tops the list this year? Atlanta, which previously hadn't made it into the top five, whereas last years' winner - San Francisco - was bumped down to second place. A total of forty cities made it to Forbes' list, using criteria such as online dating culture, 'cool' factor, nightlife, job growth and cost of living. Here are the top ten for 2008, and with that I ask you: which city do you think is the best for singles? Why?
