New Dating TV Show Momma's Boys Premiers Dec 16th

Thursday December 4, 2008

If you've ever dated a momma's boy, you know that you not only have to impress the guy you've got your eye on, but his mother as well. So why not turn this awkwardness into a TV show, thought NBC, and show viewers just what all sides of the equation have to put up with?

Premiering on December 16th with host and producer Ryan Seacrest of American Idol fame, Momma's Boys attempts to determine whether or not love conquers all when Mom acts as matchmaker.

I've yet to see a commercial for the show, but after taking a peek at some of the preview videos (see NBC's Momma's Boys website for a handful of clips), I'm intrigued to see just how far these moms will go to pair off their not-so-little ones. Having said that, even the previews make it clear that this won't be an all-ages show; one clip has a Mom telling several ladies why they are unsuitable for her son using language I cannot replicate here.

Have you watched any of the Momma's Boys commercials? Will you watch the show? Why or why not?

I value my mother’s input (as she has obviously made a few more trips around the day star than I have) but her disapproval wouldn’t stop me from dating someone. (Her actually voicing disapproval might, depending on circumstances. I see how much BS she silently puts up with from my brother’s baby mama; if it’s bad enough to have her actually say something, maybe I should reevaluate things.)

That being said, I don’t intend to watch the show. My life is depressing enough as it is.

I’ve seen the commercials and a lot of the clips on YouTube and Metacafe and I think the show looks great. I can’t wait to see how these three guys deal with their moms and the girls. It looks to me like this is going to be one really interesting show. Great concept. I’m looking forward to it.

No, I won’t watch this show; it’ll simply suck, as do all shows of this stupid genre. It makes me glad God has blessed me with 115 TV channels, these PCs, & videogame consoles that use the TV sets.

I predict a quick cancellation for it, & I’d be happy if for some reason it never aired.

My husband and I are actually relationship experts specializing in mommma’s boys! We can’t wait to watch this show because we have never run across such extreme cases as plan to be on the show! In the real world, there is solid help for momma’s boys and daddy’s girls! I am intrigued to discover what they do with this show!

What is the point of this genre? It isn’t porn, and it isn’t a documentary. If you want the theory read a book/study. If you want sexual stimulation, watch porn. Don’t watch a show that is a failed amulgum of both.

So Serp, unless a show is porn or a documentary it’s not worth watching? I bet you live in your Moms basement. The show does look pretty silly and I find only 2 of the boys are worth looking at. The one mother is acting horribly but it makes for good “reality” tv. People will watch this.

That 3rd mother is a Muther if you know what I mean…

I have seen the first episode and loved it. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the upcoming shows. As for the haters that wish an early cancellation, just turn the channel back to Hanna Montana and shut up. To the meatball that probably lives in his mom’s basement watching documentaries and porn LOL. Grow up and get out because more than likely she thinks your an idiot too. I love how people like you are always wondering “why don’t I have a girlfriend” well I bet it has something to do with the fact that YOUR FRIGGING CREEPY….porn and documentaries…what a loser.
