Harmony Partners offers the standard fare of free dating site services, including instant messaging, email, 'kisses' (ways to show interest without actually sending an email), forums, match lists, hot lists, saved searches and the ability to block users. The site also offers live chat and video features, but when I visited, neither feature was working.

Strangely, guests cannot search through the Harmony Partners website (even to see if there are any registered members in their area) before signing up. Even more strangely, singles who'd like to sign up must verify their email address before filling out the registration.

The somewhat confusing sign up process (because of grammatical errors and some odd questions) is four pages long, and took about 15 minutes to work through. Although there were many pull down menus that offered a lot of different demographic options few other sites offer (such as the marital status section, which had ten choices), some questions were strange at best - such as the one where you had to choose one type of food out of a huge list, but only ethnicities were listed. I have a feeling this question was supposed to be about where one was born/raised, but was changed later on down the road.

After the pull down lists, one then has to fill out a length profile, with no way to do so later. Several of the questions require "at least" five lines; frustrating for someone who just wants to see if there are others on Harmony Partners in their area before investing any more time into the website. (Which, in my case, there weren't any).

When searching, the information asked of you during the sign up process isn't automatically filled into the search, so you'll have to input the same information again.

As a free Christian dating site, Harmony Partners does not require that any of their members pay a fee. Having said that, it is obvious that Harmony Partners is making some money from the website, as both a donation box and advertising is found all over the site, and frequently this content appears above the fold, and before the information you'd requested. And although many free dating sites have chosen this business model, I found Harmony Partners' ads to be in the excessive and annoying range.
