Real Christian Singles provides free online personals services, including:
- Several ways to communicate with other Christian singles, such as a chat room, email, forums and instant messengering services;
- A free Christian dating site without popups (although there are unobtrusive ads that run along the sides of each page);
- Photo galleries of other single Christian users;
- The ability to add any other member to your personal favorites list and see who has perused your profile;
- A Bible search tool;
- An online arcade of classic video games;
- An online Christian dating bookstore.
A search for singles in my area (Canada - West was as specific as I could go) only netted 60 matches of the opposite sex in all age categories. As well, because the site uses a very large area with which to draw upon, there was no way to tell if any of my matches lived close by or in another province. Finally, not one of my listed matches had a visible picture, which is highly unusual.
Unique Features of Real Christian Singles
Real Christian Singles prohibits married people or convicted criminals from using their free dating site. Their disclaimer reads that, if convicted, they could face fines of up to $250,000 and up to five years in jail per offense. They also state, "Real Christian Singles reserves the right to report violators to appropriate law enforcement authorities and seek prosecution or civil redress to the fullest extent of the law." However, this disclaimer only shows up on their "About" page; a user would have to go searching for it in order to find out this information.
For the most part, Real Christian Singles offers the standard free dating site fare with few other tweaks, bells or whistles. Their signup process is relatively quick (although there is no way to answer the initial 40+ profile questions at a later date), and some of the questions posed are unique to the Christian community (i.e. specific religious denomination, church involvement and favorite Bible passages). Still, there isn't much at Real Christian Singles that can't be found at other free Christian dating sites just as easily.
