Guests can search Loopylove, but they won't get far without completing a free registration, which requires answering eighteen questions from a drop-down list, filling in your tag line, offering a brief description of what you are looking for, and providing both your demographic information name, address and telephone number - of which all must be answered. One question in particular I found particularly annoying: Which star do you most resemble? My best choice - my only choice from the list really - was Ugly Betty. As well, many of the drop down options are limited in their choices, such as one's fitness level.

Next comes a large list of questions that can be put off until later, including the uploading of photos and a thirty second video blip. And then, finally, registrants get to see how much it'll cost to actually contact another member (see below for details). It is difficult to ascertain what is pay-per-use and what isn't on the site; you just have to try it and find out. From what I could tell, freebie members can't do much other than surf around.

In addition to the standard fare at most dating sites (instant messaging, email, sending smiles, favorites and blocked members), Loopylove also has an Admirers section (for people who have sent a smile your way), as well as the ability to access the website through a mobile, or cellular phone.

One each Loopylove user's profile page, there is a "Love Wall", which is similar to Facebook's Wall application, where anyone can post anything (photos, notes, etc.) on the public space allocated for such purposes. Each user's Love Wall can host as many messages as are posted, but each must be less than 2000 characters. Additionally, Love Wall posts are not immediately added to a user's page. First they must be approved by the user whose Love Wall they belong to, and then Loopylove gives their own stamp of approval.

Similar to the search engines, Loopylove allows each user to provide a list of words that describe themselves so other users can easily find them in searches. However, unlike the search engines, Loopylove limits the number of "My Words" to nine per person.

One more unusual twist to the Loopylove site is their "Love bomb" feature, where every week users can send the 100 people they are the most compatible with a note introducing themselves.

Loopylove is free for anyone to join, but in order to access most of their services (as detailed above), you'll need to fork out some cash. A 3-day trial costs £4.99, whereas one month costs £19.99. There are also three month subscriptions for £29.99, and yearly subscriptions for £99.99.

Loopylove bills on a repeat basis, which means that if you provide them with a credit card for your first membership fee payment, you'll automatically be billed again at the end of the one or three month term for the same length of time until you cancel the service.

Loopylove accepts checks, postal orders, Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, MasterCard, JCB, Switch/Maestro and Solo cards as methods of payment.
