When you're down and out after a particularly bad breakup and need to get out of town fast right before the holidays, what do you do? The starlets of The Holiday, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, decide on whim its a house exchange clear across the world, and thus how our two main characters "meet" (although they don't actually see each other face-to-face until the very end of the film). Diaz and Law sizzle on screen with chemistry beyond most romantic movie fare, and Winslet's friendship with her newfound scriptwriter neighbor is a definite treat. I wasn't a big fan of Winslet's and Black's romance however, and just didn't feel much of anything between these two. But The Holiday more than makes up for their lack of chemistry with lighthearted fun and several surprises that are sure to please most romantic movie fans.
How To Turn These Romantic Movie Moments Into Real-Life Romance
- Take a trip over the holidays to a place you normally would never visit and just go with the flow;
- Play around with a keyboard, piano or online music maker to create your own theme song;
- Force yourself to do something different this holiday season, either solo or with your date;
- Invite over some single friends for a festive evening together.
