Where Did You Meet?
We met initially online at OkCupid, and then chatted a bit on MSN before meeting in person at a coffee shop on a double date with a girlfriend of mine.
Describe Your Date
I was nervous meeting him, as I hadn't met someone online for a long time and I knew that I was just visiting, so it couldn't really go anywhere. But he was really intrigued by me - and said so - and I was by him as well. I wasn't prepared to see him when he walked by though; my breath actually caught in my chest and I thought - oh no, he's way too hot for me.
My friend and her date stayed outside at the table we'd chosen and chatted, while I escorted my date inside so he could get something to drink. We didn't say much to each other, but didn't need to. The electricity between us was palpable.
When we sat down again with my friend, she gave me a knowing nod. Three hours later and maybe five words from my date, my friend decided to go home solo while my date and I were itching for some one on one time, so we decided to walk up and down the major street we were on to see what was up. We went laser bowling and then walked some more - until we both realized it was 5 am and it was time to say goodnight.
He thanked me for a lovely evening and asked when he could see me again. "Tomorrow?" I said hesitantly, knowing I was only in town a few more days. His face lit up and he said, "Definitely."
Advice
- Go with the flow. If things are sparking between you, don't let the date end early.
- Do things that allow the two of you to interact more than anything. We found walking side by side to be helpful in dealing with the nerves, but still prompted conversation.
