What did the internet dating scammer do?
after a few days of chatting, he said his daughter in washington needed an emergency operation and that he needed US4500 so the doctors could operate. he said that he couldnt send them the money because he was in nigeria and he couldn't get hold of the bank. by then i knew he was a fake because, they would never do such a thing in the US (pay the doctors before doing a procedure, what happened to health care?) i confronted him about being a fake and he said that he wanted to prove to me that he is real and if he does prove to me that he is real, would i still be willing to help him out?
Advice
- it's very hard to tell if the person you're chatting with is true or a fake person. you have to insist on live chatting over skype with a webcam. he said he couldn't do this because he didn't know ho to do this. also be wary of sweet talkers. i was lucky i read through him immediately. pictures are nothing. but then ask him to send you lots of pictures with him in it!
