I've received at least 4 winks from so called members who were not only out of my league. They all had the same MO, good looking, taller than me, etc. I've also received emails. Height generally 5'7" age 30-35. looking for someone 40-50 y/o 5' to 7', etc.
What did the internet dating scammer do?
One thing I noticed about match.com if you are not a paying member, you can not see who emailed you, who viewed your profile. There's also something called Daily 5 where match sends you 5 matches every day. Match.com will send you a notice indicating that someone is interested, but you can't see who they are unless you become a paying member. No way am I going to become a paying member just so I can open up an email from a scammer or just someone I'm not interested in.
Advice
- Sure, you're going to get scammers one way or another, they're just out there in the internet. I suggest you join a site that lets you see who is emailing you, etc. W/O having to become a full paying member. Yahoo dating site allowed you to see who mailed you, etc. But match.com took them over and I believe they are also affiliated with chemistry.com. They are becoming a monopoly. Just keep looking, you will find an honest and ethical dating site out there...
