- I read the question quite differently. He is not saying the ex treated him better. He is saying he got better treatment from the bartender when he came in with his ex rather than now with her. The implication is that because of the ex's looks or personality or whatever, the bf received better treatment. He sounds like a jerk who should be dumped.

- HE said he used to be treated better by a BARTENDER when he was seeing his ex... I feel this is out of NOW GIRLFRIENDS control. Maybe the bartender was BFF with his ex and could feel some kind of loyalty to the ex. or maybe in a nasty was is saying his ex was hotter. Also she does not say if the bartender is a man or a woman.
