what a scam

I am a 40 year old woman who joined the relationship company 5 months ago. When I joined the person who interviewed me was named Alyssa. She assured me she had several men in her club at that time that she wanted to introduce me to. Well that was 6 months ago...and I have only met one match so far. The one match I had told me the same thing. He had not received matches in 4 months! I feel like I was scammed. When you call the service they do not return your calls. Alyssa is unreachable by phone or email. She claims she does not have a number she can be reached at. I wish I had better investigated this company before I paid $2400.00 for basically NOTHING! Alyssa should be ashamed of herself. She is basically stealing people's hard-earned money preying on people's loneliness. I hope the person reading this is wiser than I was about this type of thing.

Unprofessional

Dont waste your money, I was set up on a date with someone that was a racist. Seriously, actually said some racist things about the President.

Take your money and run!

The Relationship Company out of Trumbull, CT. is run by a woman named Elissa Gouge. My experience has been that she does not return phone calls and has not provided the service she described. Be very careful. Do not sign a contract and do not give her your money! Ask for references. Ask for specifics such as how many "qualified" candidates are in your area. I am working with an attorney and will be filing suit against this company, both in small claims court and with the Better Business Bureau.

complaints seem fishy

I read the complaints and the funny thing is that they seem to be written by one person . If you study how people phrase thing s when they write you can tell it's the same person wit an axe to grind. I asked them if they charge that much. they told me no. I joined spent the money and am thrilled. too bad people are so vindictive. I think the problem is people expect to meet a movie star or something because they pay to meet someone. My 3rd into was awesome great down to earth country girl. Fell in love and hope to marry her.

The Relationship Co in SC is a total lie

I had the same experience as many others on this site..Paid $2300 and never received even ONE introduction even though they claim to have TONS of men who met my specifications! My first years is up and I plan to contact the Small Claims Court tomorrow to see what can be done!! THIS should NOT be allowed to continue!

I checked them with bbb

I did check with the local bbb and they did not have any complaints against therelationshipcompany. I have tried for over a year to get in touch with someone with this company. No phone call, emails or letters have be answered or returned. They do not do what they promise, and ignore all attempts to contact them. Even a registered letter comes back, although on line the company address is there. I am a middle age woman, but was assured that there were men looking for a woman my age, and not just arm candy. They will tell you anything to get your money and then just stop all contact with you. Introductions? What is that, they now want you to even pay to have to contact another person on line. If there is a class action against them sign me up!

lost 3000.00

its been 9 weeks and not one word...not one date. When i contact them, they tell me to be patient. My money is gone, lesson learned.

scam

Joined the New England based co, what a mistake. They introduced a guy with a severe character flaw that I reported to the relationship co. That didn't stop them from continuing to introduce him. The so called owner refused to take my calls. They have the nerve to charge you an extra $55.00 for a background check, they should check their own unfair practices. I'll probably never get my money back unless a class action suit is filed.

South Carolina office

I am a member or was of this outfit and they were very fair. I was surprised to read this stuff because it's simply not true. I am very happy. problem is that sometimes people date and it doesn't work out then it's the companies fault. Think before you leap , but these people are good people

Great service

I joined the South Carolina branch , they treated me fair and I met good people. I just think people should take responsibility for their actions

Feedback on The Relationship Co

There is a great deal of misinformation in regards to The Relationship Co as there are 2 different comapnies with the same name that have no connection to one another. Alot of the negative feedback is geared toward the company with multiple locations throughout the U.S. The New England based company, with it's main office in West Springfield, is a reputable firm with many satisfied clients and excellent testimonials.

The Relationship Co

Does anyone have any info as to currrent legal action against this company? There are a lot of complaints that point to scam... has anyone filed a suit?

lied to about services

I used this company years ago, and was told by the women I met with that she had wonderful men available, it was brought to my attention that this was not the case. While there was men that met my criteria, I didn't meet any of theirs because I was never informed that all the men in my age range either lived very far away, or wanted a much younger woman, in other words being very unrealistic. This company has changed employees very frequently and I believe it is because the owner does not handle any client complaints like she should. If you tell somebody you can give them something, and you don't have it available, then a person should be entitled to a refund. The contract is crap because she preys on people for money then you can never speak with her about anything. Even if you call and try by leaving her a message, she has her employee of the moment(that is how long they last) call you regarding it. If you own a business you should be there to at least help out when a problem arises.

The Relationship Company/Columbia SC

Stay clear of this dating service and SinglesPlus. Fee is $8500 to $8995 from a company that is truthful with you about the matches they have for you in order to get you to sign. Also, they have UNLIMITED TIME TO FIND YOU A MATCH. You might die before they find a match. If you have money to throw away, go ahead and sign up with them. Other franchises only charge $1800 to $2800 for their matchmaking but The Relationship Co/Singles Plus charges 4 times as much. Stay clear please.
—Guest southernlady19

Scammed also

Stay clear of this company and ones called Singles Plus. The one in Columbia charges $8995. for 32 introductions for which they have unlimited amount of time to find the first much less the other introductions. They have a D rating with Better Business Bureau in Columbia with 18 complaints. If there are so many satisifed clients, then why does the company have to write the review of themself on Yahoo giving themself 5 stars? Stay clear and warn others of the Columbia and Charleston locations.
