Dating Blog Carnival #9
Welcome to the June 26, 2008 edition of the dating blog carnival. I like this two week break in between carnivals; it gives me enough time to recuperate, and I find a lot more interesting posts with which to link to. So let's jump right in!
There were a few Sex in the City -related posts submitted this week, but Neelakantha 's over at Nerds Do It Better was my favorite. 10 Essential Dating Lessons from Sex and the City might not be essential, but they are great reminders for those of us who have followed the series, and now the movie, almost religiously.
A now-favorite poet who just happens to write prose about dating occasionally, Madeleine Begun Kane, presents The Poetry Of Dating posted at Mad Kane's Humor Blog. This week Madeleine upped the ante a bit however; not only did she write two poems (one about dates, another about dating), but she challenged her fellow blog readers to write their own in a poetry meme. So not only do you get to read the Mad Kane poems, but you'll get a peek at twelve other entries, too.
Lucid presents The Ten Commandments posted at Use Your Allure: A Woman's Guide to Attracting Men. This is a succinct and sweet list, and I admire the author for being able to say so much with so few words. This is just a list; the fleshing out will take place in the blog over the next few entries.
And rounding up this week's dating blog carnival is former host Martha at Thrive!, who is sharing I can wait to see you again posted at Thrive!. Martha, like all of her posts at Thrive!, discusses her personal experiences with dating as an older woman navigating online love. In this post she details a date that she wants to like, but just realizes he's not quite what she needs - the "OHMYGODIFIDON’TSEEHIMSOONI’LLCATCHONFIRE" feeling.
That concludes this edition. To submit your blog post to the next dating blog carnival or to apply to be a host, please review the dating blog carnival guidelines.

Thanks for posting about those blogs. I love poetry and dating definately has its own form of humor. Putting them together makes for a great read.
