How long were were you together before the break up?
Two Years
Describe the break up.
We dated for two years and during that time we had a great time. We spoke for hours on the phone and did amazing things together... went flying, fishing, we cooked out, we laughed, our love life was excellent. Then his parents moved in to town and I found out quickly that momma didn't like our relationship and that she didn't like my religion.
She kept telling him to end it. We dated another year and as long as we were together we were happy. We didn't live together during this time, just spent weekends together.
I lost my best friend.
How did you cope after the break up?
Got the internet and started playing games online, going to church and making sure I didn't lock myself up. I did get on some anxiety medicine because I felt like a shockwave hit my system and I cried so much... I had to get control so I could keep my work life in control and my personal life out of it.
Lessons learned
- Age does matter. I was 44 and he was 34. It's not worth it. I look younger than I am, so nobody would really think there was much of a difference but family hears all the details and no sense in standing in judgment of them and let it tear you down.
